RECYCLING DRIVERS NEEDED
CDL Class A Drivers needed for local work servicing recycling drop-off sites located in Carroll, Columbiana, and Harrison Counties.

*Class A CDL required
*3-5 years driving experience preferred
*Clean MVR
*Experience driving front-load truck is desirable
*Must pass and hold DOT physical
*Must pass drug/alcohol test
*New Trucks
*Competitive Pay

Full-Time Driver – PERS, Sick Leave, Health Insurance, Government Holidays, Two weeks’ paid vacation after one year.

Part-Time Driver – PERS and Sick Leave.

Job Description

POSITION: Recycling Driver
CLASSIFICATION: Unclassified, Full-Time
LOCATION: CCH Joint Solid Waste Management District (aka, CCH Environmental)
618 Canton Road, Suite B, Carrollton, Ohio 44615
SUPERVISOR: Director
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma; CDL – Class A
DOT Physical

EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years
SALARY: Hourly wage plus fringe benefits such as PERS, Medicare, and
Sick Leave; Holidays

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, hours will vary initially until routes are established
Four – Five days per week, depending upon routes established
Must be willing to work weekends and non-major holidays, if necessary
Two paid 15 minutes breaks and a 30 minute unpaid lunch break
GENERAL DUTIES:
Service the District’s recycling drop-off sites in Carroll, Columbiana and Harrison counties. Assist in the implementation of other District waste reduction programs.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1. Working with the Director and Recycling Coordinator, set up routes for servicing the District’s drop-off recycling sites throughout Carroll, Columbiana and Harrison counties. Pick up any materials left on the ground and/or any materials that may fall on the ground when emptying the containers. Contact the Recycling Coordinator when sighting non-recyclable items at the sites. Deliver full truck-loads of material to the contracted Material Recovery Facility (“MRF”).

2. Perform safety check on truck prior to leaving each morning. Inform the Director of any problems or concerns that need to be addressed. Work with the Director and Recycling Coordinator to set up a regular maintenance schedule for trucks. Keep trucks full of fluids and trucks greased. Advise Director and Recycling Coordinator when stocked service items and/or fluids are low.

3. Communicate regularly with Director and Recycling Coordinator with suggestions/changes needed in the service schedule of the drop-offs. These suggestions may include a change in the number of times a week a site is serviced, an increase or decrease in the number of containers needed, and possibly a routing change to accommodate less trips to the MRF.

4. May assist the District staff with our annual Appliance, Scrap Metal, Electronics Household Hazardous Waste, and Scrap Tire Collection events.

6. Keep vehicles clean and neat – inside and out.

7. Learn about recyclable materials that are accepted at the recycling sites. Inform the public about acceptable and unacceptable materials. Promote District website usage and Facebook.

8. Other duties as assigned by the Director.
